I am having problems with a network connection on a samba client (win2k). There is only one NIC on this machine. The Linux server provides and ADSL connection via IP Masq. This all used to work fine. As there are only a maximum of three computers on this network, I have the /etc/hosts hard coded rather than using DHCP. As I can't connect to the server or the Internet on this machine for the last couple of days, I thought it involved a windows cure-all reboot. No luck. Looking at the network hub it appears there is no signal from this machine. Tried the cable connections and they seemed fine. used another cable, no help. The NIC has a light near the jack. It is yellow instead of green. Windows says the NIC is fine. Knoppix is having no trouble finding the NIC. Suggestions? -- _______________________________________ Art Alexion Arthur S.
