I don't know anything myself, but I'd love to hear about how to get a
keyboard hooked up to an x86 PC from scratch, in order to play and record
music.  Back in the day I had an Amiga 2000 with a MIDI in/out card, MIDI
cable to a large heavy keyboard (they really don't make them like they used
to!).
