I can see that as an issue. - From what it says on Verizon's site, it seems that the customer is the one responsible for replacing the UPS units after they go bad. Also, if sound quality is important (I think I recall someone mentioning landline sound quality being better than wireless) I'm thinking fiber would have quite a dramatic improvement in quality (Verizon's site mentioned that customers might need to buy new phones. Perhaps they're fully digital? Could someone confirm that?) Does anyone know of specific areas near the city that have FIOS? I'm thinking a change in scenery is in order, and although it's not my biggest worry, I'm thinking it would be a plus to find an apartment with fiber hookups. I cannot find any service maps showing were fiber has been laid. - -jim -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFEUoic1OcdbM8NFsgRAme3AKDLDZIQpAJVP56sm3xm4tmxaUHZ7ACfRapB UePa6/SZxTW05y8+4+5Ctv0= =WpRj -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
