Typically, Verizon delivers 2 pairs to each normal POTS line customer.
Each pair is a separate "number". Even if the second pair is not used,
it could be kind of chancy to short the pair. If the pair was ever
active and the techs neglected to lift some strapping in their wire
room, you might be shorting 48v DC.system:/media/hda
