[PLUG] Xorg 7 follies


The good news about upgrading my Debian testing Thinkpad R32 to Xorg 7.0 is that I've got glx graphics again..

The bad news is that java's causing the thing to lock up, and now I'm also having trouble with server files declaring themselves read-only.

Let's take "you shouldn't have upgraded, silly man," "buy a new computer," and "get away from Debian" as given. Anyone got other solutions?
