I was wondering if there are any other Linux loving cyclists on this
list who would be interested in forming a team/club for races/events.
I'm thinking about doing the City to Shore ride (150mi) for MS in
September, and would like to get a Linux team together to compete with
the Microsoft team. Is there any interest in this? Teams are minimum
three riders and all riders are required to raise $250. If we're on a
team the $45 registration fee is waived. Long bike rides are always a
lot of fun and I think there are shorter rides for people who a) don't
have 2 days to spend riding b) don't feel like riding 150 miles, or c)
physically/mentally can't ride 150 miles. If there is any interest let
me now and I'll get the ball rolling on starting a team, Canonical gave
me permission to use Team Ubuntu, but the name is up to the team if
people would rather not ride for Ubuntu. Also, for all of the small
business owners on the list, this is a great cause to donate to! If you
want to pledge feel free to email me to discuss how to! ;) (sorry I had
to put that in, I need to raise $250).
