Yes, that is also a good choice. Avocent is what we use personally (for serial console servers besides KVMoIP) and it works great so it was easy to recommend. One thing to remember is that this is your remote access device, it should perform flawlessly and the prices are the prices ($500+). As some others suggested you _could_ build a solution, but do you really want to have to remotely diagnose your remote access equipment? Building your own will also take a lot of up-front and on-going time and you need to figure out how much your time is worth.
