Then, I swapped the ethernet cables. Other than one kernel panic shortly after 8 AM today there have been NO INTERRUPTIONS in network access. I have NO idea why that would work. I would expect the errors to move or change but not to simply vanish. It makes no sense. No matter, I have a new NIC lined up in the event it starts acting up again! Thanks to all who replied.
