Brent Saner (brent.saner@gmail.com) had this to say on 10/31/07 at 15:51: > i don't know that much about this, but isn't paging tied to either swap/RAM > or processing? > > (if so, make sure you run a cpu burn-in test- lots of threads on suggested > ways to do that in our archives- and run a memtest, and run badblocks and > performance stresses on your swap partition. if not, i'm sorry i'm an idiot. > ^_^) Actually, I have just remembered that I did see this once before, I think. That was on my old server - the one I ghosted onto this machine. So this is a different CPU and motherboard and RAM, and different HD (same filesystem, tho, since this current disk was a g4l bit-for-bit image of my old server disk). And never apologize for being an idiot - revel in your stupidity, I say! *WALLOW* it in, if you will. <VBG> Time for beer, I think .... ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
