I didn't think of complete packages.  heh  Will those things allow payments from, say...a hundred or more children to be tracked?

For a Quicken-esque approach (desktop software) there are KMyMoney (KDE) and
GNUCash (GNOME). There's also Moneydance, which is proprietary.

For a web-based approach, perhaps something like LedgerSMB would fit the bill.
