Eric (OP):

i just thought of something. first, make sure you're getting POST beep 
(as i said before..) if you ARE, make sure you aren't getting a kernel 
panic.

do livedisks boot at all? can you get into BIOS? or is it like you 
described (and like i suspected): you're getting NOTHING, just an LED.
