[PLUG] (no)atime redux

Looks like I was a few weeks premature:

relatime (which I'd never heard of before) will ship in Ubuntu 8.04:

Not a typo (Score:5, Informative)

The "relatime" mount option tells the filesystem to update atime only
when it is older than mtime or ctime. This is better than turning off
atime entirely, but doesn't have the performance issues of the older
atime functionality.

"... File systems are now mounted with the relatime mount option by
default, for improved performance. ..."

"Microsoft Tax" = the additional hardware & yearly fees for the add-on
software required to protect Windows from its own poorly designed and
implemented self, while the overhead incidentally flattens Moore's Law.
