Are you trying to grow or shrink the volume?

I am having some trouble resizing a partition on a windows 2003 server.  I tried to use gparted (live-cd) & the Acronis server product but both of them failed to see the partitions correctly.  After some investigation I found that the server is using dynamic disks.  Does anyone have experience with resizing partitions on dynamic disks?  I have seen some docs that say you need to wipe the disks and recreate the partitions, but that is the last thing that I want to get involved with.
