[PLUG] Job listing - IT professional needed for Healthcare Technology Firm (Center City)

We are a small (funded, revenue generating) software and services company in the health care space. We are looking to hire an I.T. professional to support and, ultimately, lead us both internally and externally as we continue to grow.

Internally: You will manage our corporate IT infrastructure (hardware, software, middleware) from end-to-end including networking, security, servers, desktops, laptops, enterprise storage, telephony and business continuity systems at both our offices and corporate data center (located in close proximity to one another). Internal responsibilities also include providing support for our development and QA teams implementation and testing of our technology. All of our employees live within two driving hours of Philadelphia, so internal support is required only during the work week Eastern time. Internally, you will be looked to as a resource and subject matter expert who will research, recommend and procure new technologies and approaches

Externally: You will be responsible for the procurement, lab testing, configuration, and remote management of servers that we deploy to customer sites. From time to time, you will be onsite at the client supporting the implementation of our solutions, You will also have responsibility for installing and maintaining high-availability, production-level servers and software at our data center that are used in our customer solutions. You will be paged at night infrequently because you will set up alarms and monitoring to notify you in advance of any possible concerns.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated self starter who considers him or herself an extremely mature and responsive professional; know how to manage his or her own time in smart ways that avoid repetitive manual tasks; know how to "manage up" to busy senior executives; enjoy communicating with clients, users, and colleagues in writing, on the telephone, and in person; be detail oriented yet attentive to the bigger picture; possess a bachelor's degree or more in a relevant field; have two years of experience in IT; and have specific experience and expertise in heterogeneous computing environments that mix Windows, Macintosh, and Unix environments with particular emphasis on Linux systems administration. Experience in managing an enterprise-class data center and web application infrastructure (e.g. load balancing application servers, clustering database servers) is a significant plus.

If you fit this description, please send us an email by Friday, May 23rd, 2008. It will be an exciting time to be with us and we look forward to having your much needed skills and experience on our side. Thank you!
