This month PLUG West welcomes back K.S. Bhaskar, who will give a
presentation on M/Gateway's Enterprise Web Developer (EWD)
framework. The meeting will held on April 20 at the office of
Fidelity National Information Services in Malvern, beginning at
7:00 pm. As usual, we'll begin with an open question and answer
session, and the main presentation will start around 8:00 pm.

EWD is an open-source platform for database-driven Ajax applications.
It provides a set of tags to create an interface or contract between
the UI designer and the programmer. The UI designer uses the tags
to provide content for XML DOMs in web pages, and the application
programmer writes the functions that provide content for the EWD
tags. The FOSS (AGPL v3) licensed EWD connects to GT.M and M/DB on
the back end. The connection is generated by a compiler, so that
one can potentially migrate applications between different back ends
while keeping the web pages unchanged. For web pages built with a
toolkit such as ExtJS, EWD can provide the connectivity to the back
        end application / database.
