Hello Tim, I am interested in this position. A PDF resume is attached to this email. At Haverford College I was managing and administrating XP and OS X machines, which as you probably know, OS X is Unix. I administered one Linux box at the college as well This was doing tasks like reinstalling a new version of Red Hed Exterprise Linux and resolving SATA card/driver/drive issues. I was sometimes consulted to help with Linux issues for other machines, such as how to create shell scripted batch jobs for Mathematica scripts. Linux has been the operating system of choice for me at home for 10 years. (80% Linux, 20% XP). At AT&T, for about 1 1/2 years, I had a Sparc workstation running Solaris. Our team was responsible for administrating and managing our own desktop machines. Support from an IT group was offered if needed. I worked with SQL/Oracle/ProC for one year. I have successfully launched a MySQL server on my home machine and tried some very simple examples. I look forward to talking with you about this position.
