Good evening to everyone, Wanted to let the list know that I had a Linus Systems Admin position open up just west of Philly on a contract-to-hire basis. The environment has both Unix/Linux and Windows...While this position will specialize on the Linux side the person must be familiar with Windows/AD as well. Responsibilities: * Daily monitoring and maintenance of a growing Red Hat Linux environment * Coordinate with Enterprise Architecture team to provide infrastructure design and hardware requirements with Enterprise Architecture Team * Provide customer support over email and phone along with regular status updates to peers * Maintenance of servers on Red Hat Network including kernel patches and software upgrades * Automated scripting of daily tasks such as backup, monitoring, and file system tuning * Troubleshooting and configuring ipv4 networking * Configuring group and user access with file system security * Coordinate with Windows Administrators and mentor junior Linux admins * Aid in transition to Linux from Windows environment * Provide thorough documentation of processes and procedures * Perform other job duties as requested by management Related Experience/Requirements: * 5-7 years prior experience with Linux server administration * Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux 4 and 5 * Experience with LDAP integration in an Active Directory environment * Experience with Apache, TomCat, JBOSS, Oracle 10g, and SAN configurations is a plus * Automated installations using Kickstart scripts and setting up a Network Installation Server * Experience planning and implementing a new Linux monitoring solution * Experience with HP hardware a plus * Some experience with WebSphere Application Server is a plus * Some experience with McAfee LinuxShield is a plus * Basic knowledge of SELinux and iptables is a plus * Windows Server 2003/2008 is a plus * High availability and failover solutions in a Linux environment Thank you!
