That's intriguing. Almost like the inverse of wine. How is hardware
peripheral support?

I have been doing the opposite where I need Windows. Instead of a clunky
windows host, I run Ubuntu as the host and run a bare bones windows VM in
VirtualBox that only has the software I need installed on it, working in
Ubuntu for everything else.
