Microcenter http://www.microcenter.com/ St. davids on Rt. 30
Great store with knowledgeable staff.

For Mail order I use http://www.newegg.com

If you have a SATA Controller in your system I would defiantly get a
SATA drive, otherwise I would get an IDE. You can copy partition
devices or if you have a reliable good backup you can use the backup.

Before you begin you might want to read the man pages for cp and dd.

Also, you might want to checkout http://www.sysresccd.org. I realize it
is a bit late for downloading a cd image, but I have used this in the
past with great success.

Same as above.
