Art,  What requirements, how many IP's  hundreds, thousands ?  do you need backup, a database ?
error checking, GUI ?.       I don't think the distro is as important as what management software you
select.

I like Ununtu server because it's shipped as a minimal install, and you apt-get everything you need.
