Please check the PLUG website for current driving directions: http://www.phillylinux.org/locations/coredial.html This month PLUG welcomes Kyle Burton, who will be giving a presentation entitled "Leveraging Chef-Solo for Less than Enterprise- Scale Deployments." Kyle has previously given this talk at PLUG West and PLUG Central. "When you're a small, and I mean small, company with an even smaller IT department you can't afford not to automate provisioning and system administration. Developing a culture of automation early on is vital for ensuring that your infrastructure group can scale itself as your business grows. Chef is an up and coming system administration automation framework that makes installing and managing cloud computing systems take less time and produces more consistent results. This talk will cover the architecture of Chef-Solo, getting started, core features and best practices for maintainng a cluster of systems." http://github.com/kyleburton/presenting-chef-solo The meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 12, from 7-9pm (7-8 General Q&A, 8-9 Presentation) at CoreDial's new location: CoreDial (http://www.coredial.com/) 1787 Sentry Parkway West Suite 100 (Building 16) Blue Bell, PA 19422 Directions and other information are on our website: http://www.phillylinux.org/locations/coredial.html We request that you RSVP at rsvp@phillylinux.org if you intend on coming so we have some idea of how many to expect, but it is not required. _______________________________________________ plug-announce mailing list plug-announce@lists.phillylinux.org http://lists.netisland.net/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
