Once I get in, I'll just try to see first if the video card is detected.Once I have SSH access to it, I can backup the data  and I might try to install Ubuntu Server in there and use it as such.
I have already been able to make the laptop available with arch and start the ethernet using dhcpcd. I have been almost able to login through ssh but I have to append lines to sshd_config by typing on the keyboard without seeing the output, which is a bit tricky. I'm getting there though! Thanks again for the support.
