[PLUG] non-standard Firefox behavior?

For whatever reason, Firefox has become a real attention whore. It keeps popping up front on my laptop, regardless of what else I'm doing. If I'm on a different virtual desktop, it pops over there too.
Doesn't seem to happen on other boxes (but Firefox is generally up front on the larger displays). Just curious as to what might make this happen. [Xubuntu current]
