[PLUG] upgrading system hard drives

I want to upgrade the hard drives on an older (5+ years) Red Hat server.

If I recall correctly, simply copying the contents of the existing 80 Gig
drive onto the new, larger, drive won't be sufficient for the system to
be able to boot.

My thought is to do something like this:

 1. Install new HD, boot system.
 2. Format and partition the new HD with ext2
 3. Copy entire contents of each existing partition
onto the corresponding partition on the new HD.
 4. Edit grub config file (if necessary) and then run grub.
 5. Shutdown, remove old drive, and reboot.

Does that sound right? I do this once or twice a decade so
my memory gets a bit "hazy."
