This month PLUG welcomes Elizabeth Krumbach, who is back in town
to give our January presentation.

In October of 2012, Elizabeth Krumbach accompanied volunteers
from Computer Reach (computereach.org), a non-profit based out of
Pittsburgh, on a trip to Ghana in western Africa to assist with
the deployment of 100 Edubuntu-based desktop computers. In this
talk she will share photos and details of the trip, along with
some of the lessons they learned about doing such a deployment in
a developing country.

Bio:

Elizabeth Krumbach is a Linux systems administrator based out of
San Francisco. She is a member of the Ubuntu Community Council,
serves as the marketing and website lead for the Xubuntu project
and is on the Board of Directors for Partimus.org, a non-profit
which puts Ubuntu-based desktops into schools in the San
Francisco Bay area.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 2, from 7-9pm at

University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (USP)
Griffith Hall C
600 South 43rd Street
Philadelphia, PA 19104-4495

USP is located in University City.Driving directions are
available at http://www.phillylinux.org/locations/usp.html, or
http://www.usip.edu/directions, both of which have an aerial
view of the campus buildings. USP is also easily accessible by
public transportation.

There will be an open Question & Answer session at 7PM, prior to
the main presentation at 8PM. This is an open meeting; all are
welcome and encouraged to attend.

Usually, a number of members get together after the meeting at a
nearby restaurant for food and perhaps a beer or two. Come join
the camaraderie!
