You've all clued me in on some very interesting stuff, and what I've 
learned from you is this:

There is nothing really amiss with System Monitor nor the Dell laptops. 
Although there aren't really 2 cores in the Atom N, nor 4 in the Core 
i3, both CPUs are more sophisticated than I was expecting, and therefore 
can get stuff done almost as if there were that many.
