As far as I know, I don't think the 256 MB are not being produced anymore. I think they're only available through people selling them second hand at this point.

The Model B/512 MByte is the one to get.   I got one of the early models (256
MBytes and no mounting holes in the PC board) right after they came out.  I've
started to have some random lock-ups lately with it though :(
