[PLUG] [plug-announce] Tue, Jun 11, 2013 - Scientific Programming with NumPy and SciPy, presented by Walt Mankowski (at CoreDial in Blue Bell, 7pm)


The Philadelphia Area Linux Users Group (PLUG) cordially invites
you to a PLUG North meeting on Tuesday, June 11 at CoreDial in
BlueBell, PA from 7-9 pm. See below for directions to the meeting
location.

This month PLUG welcomes back Walt Mankowski, who will be giving a
talk about scientific programming with Python, focusing on the use
of the NumPy and SciPy packages.  NumPy provides a foundation for
the manipulation of multidimensional arrays, and SciPy provides
modules for many common scientific algorithms and mathematical
tools, from FFTs and signal processing to clustering and image
processing.

Walt is currently a post-doctoral researcher at Drexel university.
He has given versions of this talk at PLUG Central and PLUG West.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 11, from 7-9pm (7-8
General Q&A, 8-9 Presentation) at CoreDial in Blue Bell, PA.
