I managed to install hangouts on chromium just now, but I have not tested it.  I use firefox myself, but the install went without a hitch.  I'm running ubuntu 14.04.

the error above indicates the problem is chrome, but I don't see it in your sources.list. Have you tried chromium? It's google chrome minus the google spyware. It is open source and does not report back to base. It should already be in your repositories.

Have you:

- -tried "apt-get update --fix-missing"
- -tried "dpkg-configure -a"
- -tried "apt-get install -f"

(in that order)?

- -have you installed any packages directly from a .deb instead of via a
repository?

if you're insane, and/or it really is clean (and you have backups), you
can edit /var/lib/dpkg/status and remove the broken package references
you find there for wine.

you might also need to delete /var/lib/apt/{lists,archives}/lock
