And the last thing/impression you want to have for a new recipient is
"slow" or even far worse, "fail".

It's far easier to tell them to update when they get home. They
understand the reasoning when explained.

Local repos get tricky in the sense of offering multiple install
choices. But anything is better than nothing. So whatever anyone is
willing to do will be gladly accepted.

But as far as the installfest portion - it's far better to approach as
NO INTERNET.
