Re: [PLUG] Linux Foundation Courses

At the very least it will get you pass HR pre-screening which is actually a pain to do since most HR people know nothing about IT. The important part is being able to prove you are worth hiring to the manager that actually is going interviewing you.

I was wondering if anyone had experience with any of the Linux foundation courses, and if any of their certifications actually held any weight in the industry? I was thinking of taking

Essentials of System Administration (LFS201)

Outline of the course is:

It is fairly cheap, has a lot of things I would like to learn anyway, but as far as getting my foot in the door at a job not sure if it is worth it.

Anyone with experience with it or viewpoints from a employer would be much appreciated.
