Not that it runs dd-wrt or tomato, it just runs and I haven't had a single problem with it are the Asus routers. The modern equivalent to mine is the AC-66U. There probably are better out there but for how well it works and the features, I couldn't be happier.

I am partial to Tomato as it's stone simple to set up but I'm perfectly
