We don't post emails on our website (well, there's one generic "contact us" address). But I can't prevent my users giving out their work emails to everybody with a "fantastic offer" that they have to get in on.

I personally get very little spam. But I have users who get dozens of spams for every legitimate email, so when even a small percentage of those get past the filter, they're "getting a lot of spam".

A 95% effective spam filter is ok when your ratio of spam to ham is 1:1. It's not so good when it's 20:1.
