Re: [PLUG] Password Mangers

Just last weekend I switched from KeePassX to KeePassXC and I am really liking XC. It feels more like the Windows KeePass experience, much cleaner and less glitchy. No problems to note so far on Ubuntu 16...

There are so many versions of KeePass, and there are a few native Linux ones too.

I tried one of the "KeePass" Linux versions a few months ago, I'm not 100% sure which one.  KeePass is .Net, which means Mono on Linux, and while you can make arguments both ways I don't really want Mono installed.

I found that version exceptionally ugly, and uninstalled all of it.

I use PasswordSafe, which was originally Windows but has been in Linux beta for years now, and has even made it into the Mint18 repos.  It is less cross-platform than some, but it works for me.

While I get the convenience of the various on-line and in-the-cloud tools, I'd personally never use one in a million years.  I'd never use the "automated" ones either.  PasswordSafe can do an "auto-type" but otherwise it's purely manual, and I like it like that.
