[PLUG] MELTDOWN PATCHES?

Today, I received to alerts to install new firmware on both my HP and Dell latops.

Intel has recommended to stop deployment of current versions of the MCU patch. They disclosed that the security vulnerabilities and/or mitigation techniques may result in adverse performance, reboots, system instability, data loss or corruption, unpredictable system behavior, or the misappropriation of data by third parties.

1. HP is removing HP BIOS softpaqs with Intel microcode patches from hp.com.
2. HP will be reissuing HP BIOS softpaqs with previous Intel microcode starting January 25, 2018.
3. Once Intel reissues microcode updates, HP will issue revised Softpaqs.
Now, I'm assuming this firmware update as of today is the 3rd step?
Does anyone else know about this? I've been through the HP, Dell, and Intel sites, and it was clear, to me anyway. At home, it's no issue, but you don't want to be going on-premises every other week for these update either.
