Re: [PLUG] HARD DRIVES |
It’s anecdotal surely but in 10 or so years of running my personal FreeBSD ZFS ~12tb raw NAS I’ve had 5 or 6 Seagate drives fail and very few, perhaps no WD Red drives fail. I mixed and matched drives for a while but found slight quirks between brands made interoperability difficult. I’ve standardized on 2tb and now 4tb WD Red drives and have had very few problems. I did use WD Green drives with no problems for some time. I switched red as the price difference wasn’t significant. -morgan > On Apr 7, 2018, at 5:56 PM, Ronald P Guilmet <ronpguilmet@gmail.com> wrote: > > I need to purchase a number of 1TB drives (2.5). They have to be production quality, but not top of the line. Are there any guidelines to go buy in searching out these products?
