[PLUG] backup help needed |
Assembled Wisdom! I've bought an external hard disk, with 2 terabyte capacity, for backing up. It works OK, but it seems I don't know the correct syntax for the 'cp' command. I thought that cp -a 'source' 'destination' would get everything, but it doesn't get e.g. my .config/ directory. I want _everything_ from my home directory /home/alan/ copied. What do I have to add to 'cp -a' to achieve this? Sorry to bother y'all with such a primitive question!
