They haven't hidden things anywhere near as well as previous versions! It's pokey on a current 16G machine, esp opening programs.When I clicked Privacy Statement, it laughed at me. For 5 minutes straight. So audio is working.
As others mentioned, $work has grp policies, therefore I can't tell where data goes. To MS, most likely. This fires me up... I wouldn't use MS products under threat, yet I'm being personally profiled (unless $work can turn it off, but I doubt MS would allow that 100%).
And yes, I believe they're playing the long game. I don't trust them any farther than I can throw Google.
Conclusion: privacy aside, it's fine. Support aside, there would be no reason for me/$work to upgrade from W7. Your mileage will probably vary.
