Thanks, Rich.  numfmt is a nifty utility that's new to me.  Although it sounds 
a little bit like KennySpeak [1]

Unless it's clear from context, I'm sometimes uncertain as to whether the 
units are bits or bytes.   But what's a factor of 8 in big-O calculations, or 
budgets.  It's often better to provision 8 times the storage or bandwidth 
resources.  See also man-month...
