Re: [PLUG] Chime

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I’m assuming by “private” email, he means one that doesn’t index his contents and sell advertising based on that.

When they say "private" email, do they mean, an email address that is NOT with a "popular" or "favor of the day" or "shiny new thing that some kid thinks is the greatest thing since sliced bread"?

If so, then who gets to be the judge and jury on what is in that camp and what is "private"?

Subject: [PLUG] Chime

Recently purchased a private email address to increase my security, and just found out chime.com does not allow "private" email addresses. I went with protonmail - used the free one for a while now when I wanted more privacy than my gmail account.
I understand that "free" things on the internet translates to "you" are the product... but somehow this one blindsided me.

Thought it would make for a good discussion.

Joe
