[PLUG] External displays / PLUGNorth 12-Oct, 2021

[ Apologies to the majority who weren't at virtual PLUGNorth tonight... ]

Context: trying to get an external VGA display to do virtual desktops/workspaces, 
rather than just mirroring the main/root laptop display.  

Enough hints gathered for me to search the online Linux fora. 

I learned something new at the tail end tonight -- connecting an external display 
also affects where audio gets sent, so I lost sound.

Much for this audio/video newbie to study.

Now that LOLz have been had, we return you to your regular scheduled discussions.
