Re: [PLUG] FBI cell analysis |
Interesting... I'm wondering what an analysis is of 18 USC § 2703 (aka "2703 orders") up against the 4th amendment would bare out now. Technology growth since the 1990's has moved far quicker than anyone's ability to really think through the social and legal ramifications. I would guess people today are [finally?] more concerned about their personal information than ever before. That's a good thing. Carriers could simply choose to anonymize stored data (i.e. provide uniqueness without identity) so they have it for internal operational analytics but it would be worthless for most other things. I don't see the value of storing such information for a long time either since its a dynamic environment. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Keith C. Perry, MS E.E. You knew it existed, now here's the data. It's sickening, and I believe it violates the 4th. ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
