[PLUG] Blog: An open-source COBOL contender emerges |
Interesting article. We've talked about COBOL before, and I've briefly played with using GnuCOBOL to compile my (really) old code, but I failed. Or rather, I got some stuff to compile, but it segfaults when I try to run. But GnuCOBOL translates to C and then compiles that. `gcobol` is to be a fully open-source COBOL compiler. https://www.theregister.com/2022/03/16/new_cobol_contender/ And: https://gcc.gnu.org/pipermail/gcc/2022-March/238408.html Later, JP -- ------------------------------------------------------------------- JP Vossen, CISSP | http://www.jpsdomain.org/ | http://bashcookbook.com/ ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
