[PLUG] Perl 5.36 released |
Hi all, The latest production version of Perl, version 5.36, was released on Friday. If you haven't been following Perl development lately, a new major release of Perl has come out every spring around this time since 2010. This has been a particularly big year for Perl, both because of a number of very cool new features [1] as well as some major internal changes to how the project is run. Ricardo Signes, one of the members of the new Perl Steering Committee, has a great review of everything that's new in 5.36 in his blog [2]. Walt 1. Subroutine signatures are no longer experimental! 2. https://rjbs.cloud/blog/2022/05/perl-5.36/ ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
