Yes, dry rot is making the speakers buzz. It's not just a matter of soldering; it's also a matter of selecting the right drivers: Mila Nesterovic designed the top of the line speakers for SpeakerLab, but he also had a custom line for which he had the cabinets specially built, for which he hand-picked the drivers, and which he personally tuned. I happened to get a good price because we had a couple of mutual friends.
