[PLUG] [plug-announce] Wed Sep 6 - PLUG Central - "General Linux Discussion" (7pm online)

PLUG Central will be meeting on Wednesday, September 6, beginning at 7pm. The meeting will be online.

We don't have a speaker for this month's meeting, so the meeting will be a general discussion of all things Linux and open source.

As usual, we'll be using Jitsi Meet, a free and open source videoconferencing platform, for the meeting. But things may be slightly different this month.

Jitsi now requires an authenticated account to create a room. This is potentially a big change, since up to now rooms were created whenever the first person went to a room with that name.

I authenticated with GitHub and it let me create a room with our September meeting name. It's possible nobody else will be able to enter the room until I join! I don't know. We'll all find out together!

For now, let's assume that everything will work the same as it always has, and we'll play it by ear if it doesn't. That means you'll be able to access the meeting online at

Jitsi Meet also has apps for iOS and Android. If you decide to use one of those apps, use meeting code "PLUGCentralSeptember2023".
