Re: [PLUG] Off Topic: Security Cameras

I'm assuming when you say recommendation, you mean wireless but to be honest any serious use security camera is going to be wired. Door intercom are the one class of devices that often are wireless and if you use those as another cam (which is what I do) you would want that wired as well.

I've mostly be installing DSS products but before that, LTS. Both have a local presence in NJ.

They might have wireless products but I'm unfamiliar with them if they do.

Also, have you considered doing a wired installation and using small PoE switches closer to the cameras? You could the attach wireless mesh / WAP devices to those switches to get them on your LAN. I know most people don't want to do wiring in their homes but it will definitely be worth it. This type of deployment could cut down on the wiring and also allow you better control of where the place the wireless devices.

Subject: [PLUG] Off Topic: Security Cameras

I'm getting fed up with Blink cameras.  The "base station" has to be
physically close the cameras, but the signal must be VERY weak because
I'm having trouble finding a central location in my 1,800 foot ranch
house where the front and rear cameras are both in range.

Anybody got a recommendation for security cameras?
