| Re: [PLUG] microcenter has baofengs again |
Just to put this out there.... Not all Baofengs are created equal. Quite a few models can be "dirty" in the sense that there can be significant harmonics in other bands. A number of ham guys on Youtube do tests to show this so buyers are informed. I don't think I've seen this particular model tested so I don't know one way or the other. I get it... it's a $20 radio. I have a couple of Baofengs myself. That said, they as well as Wouxon and Tidradio (also Chinese) have models that are clean for not much more money. For Baofeng though, I would stick to models under the Btech brand since they are in the states. Their Baofengs models tend to be a better quality. The new UV-5R Mini (https://www.baofengradio.com/products/5r-mini) has however been tested by a number of people and that one has had good results too. -$0.02 😎 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Keith C. I take it they're in that aisle with all the other impulse buy items by the registers? Do they have any other ham stuff?
