Just to let everybody know how to do this, Hugh mailed me and told me
how.

Define a dummy interface (ie, dummy0) and assign it one of the private
IPs, then add a host name to /etc/hosts that corresponds to that IP.  
Configure your httpd to listen on the proper port on that IP.

In case anybody was wondering.  :)
