AN UPDATE:  I sort of have it:

macro index G "s ^a^d^d^d^d^d^d^d^dspam\r"

which is annoying because I will never know if I have enough ^d's
to properly delete the folder name that MUTT "suggests" I should 
be saving this email in.  ^a takes me to the beginning of the 
line.

BTW:  If anybody is interested, I'll post my "XMUTT" script:
conveniently starts an xterm, the way I like it, with MUTT.
Oh, and it won't start two.  Integrates nicely with KDE :-)
